Mission & Objectives
AFRO works for the social inclusion of female sex workers, so that they can enjoy equal treatment and access to all legal and health rights. We offer services and support to female sex workers and advocate the acceptance of sex workers' rights and decriminalisation of sex work.
Agency Introduction
Action for REACH OUT was officially established in 1993. It is the first sex workers’ support group in Hong Kong, a non-governmental and a charitable organisation. AFRO is also a member of the Hong Kong Women's Coalition on Equal Opportunities and the Hong Kong Coalition of AIDS Service Organizations.
Scope of Services & Highlight
AFRO's services include on-site and online outreach, service centre, hotline, health or legal consultation and referral for social services etc. We also actively promote health and rights education, and encourage and facilitate sex workers to build up their own support networks.
We also engage in public education, research and advocacy, aiming to facilitate communication between sex workers and the public and eliminate misunderstanding and discrimination against sex workers.
